Torque Safe
Torque Safe is a safety switch which has been designed for hydraulic torque wrenches. This provides a safety feature for the technician handling the hydraulic torque head positioning for use. This safety feature has been designed for the handling technician, preventing potential hand crushing injuries. Using a hydraulic torque wrench often requires two operators due to positioning of bolts, weight of the hydraulic torque head and sockets. One operator controls the on-off switch, and the other operator positions the hydraulic torque head.
Depending on the maintenance or break down task there are often multiple jobs performed in the same areas. When performing these tasks, the working environment can be harsh, due to noisy, repetitive, and slow conditions. These factors have caused distractions and break downs in communication between both operators performing the bolting task, resulting in severe injuries.
The Torque Safe is a patented system which is designed to prevent these safety issues because it gives control to the operator as to when the tool may actuate, thus preventing unwanted actuation of the tool and thereby preventing hand crush injuries.
In addition to hand crush prevention, The True Dead Man Configuration Torque Safe provides the operator with a safety fail safe in the event of the hydraulic wrench slipping from the proper reaction point. The entire operation can be stopped prior to disaster, simply by releasing the Dead Man Lever.

The operator can change tools simply by using the connections on the tool and Torque Safe. Can be used with ANY type of hydraulic connects. It works IN-LINE with the Hydraulic wrench and the hydraulic wrench pump.
Benefits of a True Dead Man IN-LINE model:
1. The Torque Safe can be used on any hydraulic wrench. Even on models that do not have a swivel.
2. The IN-LINE model is better adapted for smaller hydraulic wrenches. It has no effect on access to the application.
