TORQUE SAFE
Torque Safe is an IN LINE safety switch which has been designed for hydraulic torque wrenches. This provides a safety feature for the technician handling the hydraulic torque head positioning for use. This safety feature has been designed for the handling technician, preventing potential hand crushing injuries. Using a hydraulic torque wrench often requires 2 operators due to positioning of bolts, weight of the hydraulic torque head and sockets. One operator controls the on/off switch and the other operator positions the hydraulic torque head. Communication between the two is key to safety.
Depending on the maintenance or break down task there are often multiple jobs performed in the same areas. When performing these tasks the working environment can be harsh due to noisy, repetitive and slow conditions. These factors have caused distractions and break downs in communication between both operators performing the task resulting in severe injuries.

Torque Safe True dead man IN LINE Hydraulic Torque Wrench Safety System
With the True Dead Man configuration, the default mode of the system is now Safe. To operate the hydraulic wrench requires that the tool operator hold the lever up. The instant that he or she lets go of the lever, the system reverts automatically to safe mode.

The IN-Line Version of the torque safe is mounted on the hose, IN-Line with hydraulic Wrench and the Hydraulic Wrench Pump.
The IN-LINE version can be used with any make or model Hydraulic Wrench in the world.
It can be switched from tool to tool, simply by changing the quick connects. The IN-LINE version functions as a LOCK-OUT/TAG/OUT Safety system for your hydraulic wrenches, giving complete control over the actuation of the tool to the person who is handing the hydraulic wrench.
The IN-LINE is configured as a Dead Man Lever is required to work the Hydraulic Torque Wrench. The default of the system is safe. In order to actuate the hydraulic wrench the operator engages the lever handle and holds it in the operate division. When the fastener is loose or torqued and the operator must set up for the next fastener in the sequence simply letting go of the lever makes the hydraulic wrench safe.
With the normal operation (handle engaged) oil will pass through the valve. Upon letting go of the handle, the oil is diverted from the hydraulic torque Wrench
Torque safe' activated (handle released in this position, the oil can no longer pass through the valve and is diverted returning to tank. The safety feature Torque Safe' now enables the operator positioning the hydraulic torque wrench, who is at risk, full control of the tooling. With the handle released this eliminates any unintentional movement by the second operator who has control of activating the hydraulic torque wrench via the pump.
